CEO: Spida Hunter

I am of Tainui descended on my father’s side & from Te Arawa on my mother’s side. I have a beautiful little (or big) son called Kayleb William Hunter who was born in 2003.

I’m often asked is ‘Spida’ my real name.

Let me tell you how I’ve become to be known as Spida not only in NZ but around the world.
Come on… Spida as a birth name?... really! I apologize now if your birth name is Spida you and I both know it’s the coolest name.

My real name is Wayne William Hunter I was named by my grandfather Bill or William Hunter so while I prefer to be called Spida I’m still very proud to carry the names that I do have. My son Kayleb now carries William as a middle name as my father did and I do.

Anyway back to Spida& how it came about, I suppose it’s just habit that I continue to use Spida, plus the fact it adds personality! After all it’s not often someone forgets the name Spida now is it?

How did I become to be called an 8 legged creature and spell it with an A rather ER? Well the story goes when I was about 6 months old and starting to crawl I began to crawl like a Spider when my father saw this he said “man that boy looks like a Spider” I’m sure he meant crawls like a spider & knowing my father their would have been a few more words in there that aren’t appropriate to mention.

However that is what he said and it stuck. It wasn’t till I got to primary school that I preferred to be called Spida and 20+ years later I’m still called Spida. When I graduated high school I changed the ER to an A on the end of it, why I don’t really know maybe to add something more different to an already different name!

That’s the birth of how I received the name Spida and how I have evolved the name so far, just where I will take the name Spida in the future I’m not sure so you’ll have to keep checking the site out to find out where it goes to from here.

Here is what some of our client's has had to say about Enhancing Human Performance.

My name is Karen Lynch & I compete in the Muay Thai kickboxing. I hold 2 NZ titles (NZ Woman’s Superlight Weight & NZ Woman’s Lightweight). For my most recent title fight I was fortunate enough to train under Spida Hunter of Enhancing Human Performance. With only 5 weeks to go I was feeling unfit and slow, so I decided to meet with Spida to see if he could help.

Spida developed a programme for me that was sports specific and focussed on my main weaknesses.

Going into the fight I was pretty confident, I knew I was fit enough and I was feeling good. However once the fight started I was astounded by how fit I was, I hardly even worked up a sweat! I was throwing shots faster then I have ever thrown in any other fight and my power had increased tenfold, especially in my legs which was evident when I stopped my opponent in the 4th round with leg kicks!

After only 5 weeks Spida’s programme had me fitter, faster and stronger then I’ve ever been before! I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do for me with 3 times the amount of preparation.

Here is one of my favorite quotes “We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.”
